As a follow up to my previous blog I thought I would share about my favorite kind of spell, The Written Word. There is nothing more powerful than words, and when you combine words with intention you have a powerful spell in the making. However not all paper spells require words. Spells can be cast with images and symbols.
Some paper spells are created in order to be destroyed via fire or water. Destroying the paper spell releases its energy into the atmosphere so that the spell can work as intended. Some paper spells can be folded up and combined with Mojo bags or Medicine pouches.
The most common paper spell is The Release Spell, which releases something that no longer serves you. To perform a release spell you would write down on a piece of paper the thoughts, words or feelings that you no longer wish to carry.
Then fold it up and burn the paper spell in a cauldron or bowl. As you watch the flames feel those unwanted feelings burn away with the paper and all that is left is the ashes of those feelings. With the ashes that are left you would want to bury them in the earth or scatter them to the wind.

Another important part to a powerful written spell is the paper you write on and what you are writing with. For more powerful spells you would want to use some sort of parchment paper and ink. For Example for written protection spells I use parchment paper and Dragon's Blood Ink. Dragon's Blood is a resin that can be mixed with ink to add extra power to a written spell. . I also use a crow feather as a writing instrument. It is quite easy, just dip the quill of the crow feather in the ink and start writing. You would be amazed at the results and how very sacred if feels to be setting my intention in this way.
Here are a few Inks that you can use for Written Spell working:
Bat's Blood - used for hexing and crossing
Dove's Blood - used for love spells
Dragon's Blood - used for power, protection, binding and spell strength.
If you are interesting in finding these type of Writing spell kits or the Ink, feel free to send me an e-mail and I can send you order information. kathleen@ravenswinginternational.com
So bring the power of the written word to your spell working and get creative with the written word!
Blessed Be,
Rayven
